Company adds Electronic Arts founder Trip Hawkins as a Senior Advisor

SAN FRANCISCO—March 20, 2013—Today NativeX, formerly W3i, is announcing that it is launching the new NativeX Platform to help app developers better monetize with innovative native advertising. The company is also adding industry giant and founder of Electronic Arts and Digital Chocolate, Trip Hawkins, as an advisor to its board of directors.

As the mobile and web space are evolving rapidly, so are developer needs for monetization. In recognizing the shift to native advertising solutions, NativeX looks beyond standard display ad mechanics with a clear mission to provide more targeted, more effective, innovative advertising.

The NativeX Platform builds on the company’s goals of providing cross-platform mobile and web marketing solutions, specifically helping developers acquire and monetize users. The platform enables publishers to create and integrate custom native ad units, and it is backed by a powerful global offer exchange for better monetization.

“Native advertising is the future, and I am thrilled to get involved with this forward-thinking company,” said NativeX advisor Trip Hawkins. “Every major publisher on mobile and web has their eye on native advertising right now. NativeX is proving that we as an industry can do better than banner ads.”

The platform launch follows on the heels of an explosive year in mobile for the company. At 105 million monthly active users across iOS and Android, NativeX’s mobile business grew 350 percent in the last year. NativeX also recently opened a San Francisco office and expanded its employee headcount to 165.

“Our goal is to provide the innovation and the creativity to ensure consumers get their favorite apps for free,” said Rob Weber, co-founder and senior vice president of NativeX. “We want to help developers thrive through the success of their apps.”

Developers interested in learning more about NativeX’s new product suite can visit www.nativex.com. NativeX will also be present at the 2013 Game Developers Conference. NativeX is hosting a panel on native advertising and generating game revenue at GDC 2013 with Trip Hawkins and Ben Vu of SkyVu.
